When team Long Shot reaches their fundraising goal of $6000 Jason Cole and Jen Garrett will sing karaoke and Tim Cormode will wear a speedo on race day!
Dale and Dan have come together and agreed to put their lives on the line for the sake of fundraising for Power to Play.
Back by popular demand, Power To Play 2010 will take place May 2nd at the Vancouver Island Technology Park and surrounding area. There will be more teams, new and exciting challenges and five zones for your family, friends and colleagues to cheer you on and join in the fun – including a participatory Family Zone.
Power to Play is designed by Alan Bishop (challenge designer for TV shows Survivor and Amazing Race, and Eco Challenge participant). Power To Play proceeds will go directly to Power To Be: reducing waitlists, purchasing equipment and increasing access to outdoor education programs.
Power To Be is a nationally recognized charitable organization dedicated to making a real difference for youth and families in our community. Through unique and inclusive year-round outdoor education curriculum, Power To Be fulfills an important community need, which fills the gap between the social service sector and the public education system. Power To Be encourages participants to courageously step out of their comfort zone and challenge you to do the same!
In 2009, 23 teams of four spent roughly four hours running, crawling, sliding, jumping, pushing and challenging themselves through stations of mud, water, bushes, puzzles and other obstacles in a way that the Victoria business community has never experienced before. The event was a great success, raising roughly $32,000 the first year!
This is an event not to be missed. Help us raise $100,000 in 2010. Please join the adventure and register your team now.
